Chris Reynolds
As a teenager in the 1980’s, Chris Reynolds found himself drawn to the heavier sounds of Iron Maiden, AC/DC, and Ozzy Osborne. Fascinated by the complex melodies, Chris soon found himself in search of any opportunity to learn about playing music. Coming from a musical family (his grandfather played anything from jazz piano and harpsichord, to banjo and guitar); Chris had a natural inclination to the stringed instruments. Though it was not until a close friend received a guitar for his birthday, that Chris knew what he had to have. After procuring a couple of guitars of his own, Chris spent the rest of his teenage years working on his ability to play the electric and acoustic guitars. Though progressing as a guitar player, he quickly realized that what stood him apart from the other young players around was his thick, soulful voice. A voice that would one day lead him on to sharing stages with legends like Chicago, Tesla, and Alanis Morrisette. By the early 90’s Chris had established himself as a dominate front man in the Dayton, Ohio area, but had still not found the right band. Then in 1994, while earning a Bachelor’s degree in Management Information Systems at Wright State University, he was contacted by local drummer and fellow student Craig Carroll, a new band was forming and Chris would have his first opportunity to play with some of the best musicians in Dayton. Now fronting the band Festive Skeletons, Chris spent the next four years playing the Ohio club circuit and opening for dozens of national acts. Despite enjoying a great deal of success performing with Festive Skeletons, by 1998 Chris was ready to set out on his own. Performing as a one man acoustic act, he continued honing his voice and guitar playing abilities, becoming both a talented musician and entertainer. By the time we were celebrating the new millennium, Chris was a well established fixture in the Dayton club scene. Things continued on much the same as the 2000’s rolled on, but in 2005 again a new band was forming, and again Chris got the call to come front the group. Local band Slaphappy’s front man Jason Parker was moving to Florida and the band was ready to make some changes. With the hiring of Chris, Slaphappy was ready to change names and direction and Last Call was formed. Chris’ powerful voice immediately brought the finishing touch to a band that already was know for it’s strong three part harmonies. Making great partners in music, and true friends in life, Last Call hit the ground running and has yet to look back. |
